Thinking Children Child Care Center

Stabilization Grant, Fall 2007

Located on Ogontz Avenue in the West Oak Lane neighborhood of Philadelphia, Thinking Children Child Care Center has been in operation since 1980.  It’s a woman-owned business and serves a vital need for the corridor.

In 2007, they were in need of facade improvements, particularly the doors and windows.  They had a supportive sponsorship from the West Oak Lane Business Association. Thinking Children Child Care Center not only provides the services of after-school and summer care for residents who work outside of the neighborhood, but they also play an integral role in the community as a quality, safe pre-K learning hub.

TMF approved the application and awarded Thinking Children Child Care Center with a Stabilization Grant to help with their upgrades.  Refurbishing the facade will also help perpetuate the aesthetic revitalization of the corridor.
